3970 or 54xx/55xx

Basically i have a ipaq 3970 with a bluetooth GPS and it works great, as most people who use sat nav devices you tend to listen to the voice commands than keep looking at the screen.

The thing is I always like to have the latest ipaq, ie more stable, more functions, etc. But for the past couple of months reviews on how poor the speaker volume on the 54xx/55xx is puts me off from buying it.

Is it really that bad for voice commands as I dont want to be wearing a hearing aid when using the sat nav.

If the volume requirement is of real concern, then don't buy the 54xx/55xx, the speaker volume is appauling. I use the arkon 121 wireless audio adapter to boost the sound via my car radio, it works great, but its a comprimise and now apparently illegal, as you cannot listen to the radio or CD whilst using the Arkon.

Other than the speaker problem I get on great with my 5450.
