I have a BMW530 with Pro Navigation option. The TMC function has worked fine since I took delivery Oct 2005, but in the past week I have noticed that I no longer get warning symbols on the map like I used to. I have checked that all the setup selections are enabled for TMC correctly - TMC is higlighted in white text at the bottom of the screen as normal. If I manually select traffic info, I get a message saying "Transferring Messages" for up to 10-20min, thereafter a message saying "No messages". The rest of the nav system functionality works as before. Its just the TMC data which no longer seems to be getting through. Any advice would be much appreciated.

Regards,

Andrew

have you checked the TMC antenna too? That is a very sensitive part of the puzzle.

Thanks for the reply, where would one find the TMC antenna? Is it part of the GPS antenna?

Hi,

I'm wondering if TrafficMaster (aka RAC) are having transmition problems. I have a Garmin Nuvi with a TMC-10 traffic alert add-on. In the last few weeks I have had a similar experience to yourself. When my u nit works it works very well, but sometimes I don't get a signal at all. Even in the same day I can get a signal going to work, but on my return I don't get anything at all.

Not sure if this is a unit failure or a problem with TrafficMaster broadcasts.
