Can anyone point me towards a place where I can download a Landrover / Freelander splash screen for my TomTom Go 700 and how to install it?

Thanks in anticipation.

you just need to get hold of a landrover graphic in bmp format, upload it as splash.bmp to your go after renaming the original splash.bmp to oldsplash.bmp in the root folder.

its under discussion here: http://www.expansys.com/forumthread.asp?code=TOMTOMGO&thread=1430

hope this helps ;)

Thanks,

The first thing I noticed on the discussion flagged was a warning as to the versions supported.

I am using the latest update (5.420) and understand that this will not work with certain software (such as the POI Cature software)

Will the copying of sucha .BMP work with this version?

If not can someone advise me on the method in this case?

All TTG's using V5.xxx have the same Splash.bmp specification.

There are loads of splashscreens HERE
Not sure if there is a LandRover one there yet but if you ask someone will probably make one for you.

Can you change the splash screen on the tomtom one? i have followed the directions, e.g. make a .bmp of 320x240 and rotate 90* but i just get a black splashscreen.

Also is there anyway i can display my current speed on the tt one? like when im following a route can it display my current speed?

Common problem is that you have extensions hidden and that the splash screen is arriving on the GO with the name of "splash.bmp.bmp"

It will only work if it's called "splash.bmp" on the GO.

Managed to set up a 24 bit .bmp which was renamed to splash.bmp (old one renamed) size 2488 x 762 (3.7 Mb).

No problem doing that, but it doesn't work - I get a blank splash screen!

What am I doing wrong?

It has to be reduced to 240 x 320 to work.
