Memory-Map or Fugawi UK would be best.

I love my NAVMAN in the car and use it extensively in day to day life.

I would like to use it off road and was wondering if anyone has experience of this. Is there any recommended

software applications and uk maps? Ideally the software would allow me to feed in waypoints to follow. Maps are not a requirement but entering a set of waypoints is.

Any suggestions would be gratefully recieved.

Dave,

I use Memory Map. It is quite expensive but well worth the money. More of a professional looking package than FUGAWI.www.memory-map.com

The maps are stored on your PC, I have mine on a laptop, and then downloaded to the PPC as required. You can select waypoints etc although I have not yet investigated this facility fully as yet. It would seem to fit your needs.
There is a free demo to download from their site and the PPC software is included so that you can see what the maps will look like on your PPC. An excellent product.

By the way FUGAWI also do a demo so you can compare the two but I never got it working!!

Both products use Ordnance Survey maps. However, Memory Map would appear to be more flexible as there are also available A to Z and Topographical maps.

Currently restricted to 1:50000 scale, I beleive they are negotiating with Ordnance Survey to supply 1:25000. Then it will be truly awesome.
But don't take my word for it. Download the demo and see for yourself.

Finally, the software has worked absolutely faultlessly with my Navman 3450 although the odd soft reset has been required.

I also use Memory Map, the waypoints are used and the if you set it to follow route it has a big arrow pointing towards the next waypoint and shows you ETA etc.

I am currently reviewing the NavMan 3300 package. We should have the article finished by the end of this month.

You will find the software familiar. It is exactly the same as the Memory-Map and Maptech Pocket Navigator software.
