Cbrom

Great application - been waiting for something like this.

Is it possible to also add an option for altering distances where the speeds are either blank (unknown) or set at 0 (eg Variable speed limit GATSOs on the M25, M42) rather than it maintaining the default settings?

One step ahead of you there.

I've just done some updates the the application.

You can now select multiple files to convert, and there is a 'default' distance for those 'unknown' or 0 mph speeds.

I've also fixed the little typo MaFt spotted!

Anyway uninstall the old version and install the new 1.0.1.

Hi,

Thanks for the update but the download link still points to the old file.

Kind regards,

Mark

PS Well done Smile

This is speed guide i made some time ago, just approx distances:

20 MPH
440 FT - 140 M = 15 seconds
590 FT - 190 M = 20 seconds
730 FT - 230 M = 25 seconds

30 MPH
660 FT - 210 M = 15 seconds
880 FT - 280 M = 20 seconds
1100 FT - 350 M = 25 seconds

40 MPH
880 FT - 280 M = 15 seconds
1200 FT - 380 M = 20 seconds
1450 FT - 460 M = 25 seconds

50 MPH
1100 FT - 350 M = 15 seconds
1450 FT - 460 M = 20 seconds
1850 FT - 590 M = 25 seconds

60 MPH
1320 FT - 420 M = 15 seconds
1760 FT - 560 M = 20 seconds
2200 FT - 700 M = 25 seconds

70 MPH
1550 FT - 500 M = 15 seconds
2050 FT - 650 M = 20 seconds
2600 FT - 830 M = 25 seconds

May be of some use when using cbrom's great utility.

Thanks for the converter. May i suggest you add it to the 'sticky' listings before it gets lost!

I found it useful because it displays the camera listings on easygps in their geographical location on the map, looks like a swarm of bees. You can then find the cameras that, how should i put this, are more active(read 'bongs alot') on your journeys so you can 'amend' their alert speed a little!!

Cbrom

Thanks for the changes.

As per my earlier post is it possible to separate 0mph and unknown categories. Many of the Gatso cameras on the M25 and M42 are set to 0mph - and I would use a short alert distance for these, whereas there are many unknown speed cameras where a longer distance would be preferable.

A great program though

Version 1.0.2

Split the 0 mph and unknown into separate distances
Added a 10 mph speed and distance
Added a 'Results' windows showing the converted files

Excelent work on the Gpx GPS Exchange Waypoints converter and well spotted that the manual overrides will work with GPX files.
I really like the way cbrom's program promisses to make it easy to override the alert distances which is something really new. I'll try using it.

Still worth mentioning though, albiet if now eclipsed, especially if you have access to data in tom tom format

A Gpx format converter already existed, the same format converter some people were using to convert POIs from Tom Tom ov2 format to csv in the first place for the old POI loader. Believe the guy who wrote this is a moderator on PocketGPS world. He uses username Oldie. Seems to be a clever guy.For his POI converter

If you upload the camera database as GPX format, do you still only get the audio/visual warnings if the trigger speed is exceeded?

Yes, the only difference with a GPX formatted file is the ability to add an alert distance for each POI.
