Darren - are you able to say much on why RDS-TMC will be included and how it works with the TomTom Traffic service ? Seems like they are knocking possible revenue out there or am I missing some thing... ie still needs a sub ?

Terran

We never saw it but it's an external FM unit so one hopes no sub will be required.

Re the external TMC receiver would it be possible to check to see if this will be a Bluetooth unit ie connects via BT.

If so, there's a slim possibility that us Navigator V5 users maybe getting TMC as well this year? ?

Indeed so! Connect the iPOD directly to the GO's base mount (using I suspect a custom cable) and you can browse your PlayList and control the iPOD from the GO's screen Smile

And if you're GO is plumbed into the Car Speakers it'll play over them too.

AIUI, the TMC unit connects directly to the GO's base, it is not BT, sorry Sad But it still suggests TMC licensing is in the pipeline so may not all be bad news!

And if it's not it'll play in mono through the GO and mute if navigation instructions are being spoken or the handsfree takes a call.

Can't say as it's under NDA but yes it will filter down to PDA's in due course.

Are the routing algorithms a bit more flexible - like the Navman 500 series - or is it still quickest or shortest?

Don't know, we didn't get the opportunity to evaluate that.

However they did say they had put a lot of development effort into routing and navigation. Some interesting things will be revealed next week...
