This has been confirmed. I spoke to Garmin about 5 minutes ago who said the following:

'This is indeed the case and all you need to do is send off your v7 transflash card to the following address:

i2/i3 Update
Freepost Garmin'

Turn around is planned at 5 days but should be quicker.

Did you check to see if anyone who owns a v7 unit is eligible or only recently purchased ones? I forgot to ask Smile

oh and Mat they told me to phone back again in march .... perhaps because they want to register details first?

You can get one yourself when you phone them first week in March to arrange the swap.

like i said MaFt ,i dont doubt you....but i gather that pocket gps world/tim buxton has an association with garmin ,wouldnt it be appropriate for garmin to 'officially' tell us all what/how to do the upgrade.....this would be a service for all the loyal v7 members on this site.....

Will use special delivery though. I asked who is eligible and the support guy said everyone with an I3. Go for it.

Also I was told to wait a couple of weeks before sending my card to them. I suppose they expect to be quite busy!
