recovered sat nat

i got my sat nat recovered on thurday by the police and they nicked the poeple that stole it (nice result ) put i have to wait for them to us it for evidance and still do not now if it works or not because they would not let me plug it into the car to see, might have some nice addresss on that can help them (police)put still no.

has any one else had the sat nav recoverd and how long before you got it back from the police

Although evidence of a crime, there is no need for the police to retain it. The property is rightfully yours and is not subject to a Court ruling for its return or subject to the Police Property Act. A S.9 statement saying that it has been returned to you, you will not dispose of it - by selling it on etc. and that you will produce it in Court if required will suffice.
