I just bricked my Quest 2. Updated through web updater. It erased the sytem software, started to update, and stopped at 9% 12 seconds remaining. Let it sit for 20 minutes and no joy web updater locked up. Now My Quest 2 displays system software missing and is not recognized by web updater anymore.

Have read on ther forums that people have had similar problems with Nuvi 350's have been able to get the Nuvi into a pre-boot mode and manually place the firmare back into web updater. Any one know anything about doing this for a Quest2?

This blows. I am a truck driver and I just bought it 3 days ago and took off on the road for 5 weeks. Nobody retails the Quest 2 in the States and any solution that involves mailing crap back to Garmin is going to screw me. Ever try to mail or receive a package while you drive 3000 miles a week for 5 weeks?? Aieee!!!!!

From another post:{Try a manual update. Download the update to your pc. Then use the UPDATER included the the package you just downloaded to send the software to the GPS.

I tried for hours to get this to work downloading from the Garmin site. last night.

Tried the same thing but downloaded the firmware from a 3rd party and bango! Worked perfectly. The files were taking awhile to download from Garmin and must have been corrupted. Phewww. Big Thank you!
