I've just received a(nother) copy of CoPilot6 for my new O2 XDA mini S (AKA I-mate K-JAM). Having perviously had exactly the same package on T-mobile's version of the same PPC, you'd have thought I'd sail through the installation... NOPE!

On inserting the mini SD card, I get the usual prompts to accept the license, but then get "installation of copilot.wm5ppc.cab was unsuccessful" followed by "installation of tts.cab was unsuccessful". After that, I just get told to run the autorun from the storage card, but this just sends me through the same loop!

Any ideas? Sad

<deeply embarrassed> Embarassed

Cough! Rolling Eyes

Erm...

It might have helped if I'd checked that the "bargain" (previously returned item) actually was the correct software for my handset - I mistakely ordered a Smartphone version (and of course my "XDA mini S" is a PPC) 8O

OK so I deserved to pay the fiver it took to return it! Embarassed I really OUGHT to have known better!

The ironic thing is that I really DID double check that this was the correct thing before ordering it (the price was too good to be true) and STILL failed to spot that the platform was incorrect!

The guy I spoke to did say "it's a common mistake" though.

We live and learn! Rolling Eyes

Unfortunately the line between SmartPhone and PDA is now starting to become blurred by the media and phone shops in general. A lot of companies advertise the MDA Compact as a SmartPhone when it is not.
