You unlock maps etc here:-
https://my.garmin.com/mygarmin/customers/

Is it the full DVD or the update DVD?

Can you view the maps within MapSource on the PC?
Can you view the maps within the unit?

What level of maps came with the unit originally?

I think you'll find the unlock code you've got is for v8. A lot of us made the same mistake and assumed the code given on the Garmin website was for v9, but couldn't unlock the maps with it.

You really need to telephone Garmin, who'll give you the v9 unlock code straight away. Could someone else phone for you if you're unable to do it during the day yourself?

Otherwise you'll have to email Garmin, but their response to emails can take some time.

I think you'll find that if you go back to the Garmin site again and log in using your registration profile/password you will find that you will be able to retrieve your V9 code quite easily (as Anita said, you probably have the V8 unlock at present but if you have successfully ordered the V9 disc there should be a new code waiting for you).

My disc turned up the other day. To unlock it i just installed mapsource and used the wizzard to unlock the maps. Just needed to put in my login and password for 'mygarmin' and that was it, job done.

But you can log in and find out what it is as well
