hello people.
Afters succesfully installing the speed camera and red light camera onto my ACER N35 i have found one more final little glitch which i am unsure of rectifing.
This is the red light camera voice 142 file.
when i approach speed camera, i have the fav warning which i have set to, check speed camera zone ahead thanks to the help from Mikey F.
but when i reach a red light i get the same warning and not the red light warning i got of Mikey F.
how do i manage to set up a voice file for auto alert 2 on PN with the acer n35.
Hmmm Question
Thanks

Mikey probably sent you a DestinatorVoiceManeuver.inf file along with the voice files. You need to use this revised inf file to replace the original in the ALL folder where you find the 141 file. Also make sure you put the 142 wav file in that folder.

However, If Destinator Lite is anything like Destinator OP then this will not work and I have not yet found a way to rectify this for OP version.

Try it out if you haven't already but make a copy of your original file in case you need to change back.

If Mikey didn't send you the file I will post the section you need so you can cut and paste.

Well mine didn't work either but I had a slightly different command added to the bottom of my original inf file:

::SW,FAVORITES_ALERT,0,0,141,"Favorites Alert"

As Mikey's version didn't have this my 141 file went silent as well. Do you have this command at the bottom of your DestinatorVoiceManeuver file?

I also had no 142 file to replace. I think the original commands ment for it to use the 141 voice alert follwed by the number 1 or 2. So there would not have been a 142 file.

The commannd prompts on Mikey's version have been changed to prompt the system to use the 142 file instead of 141;2.

See this original part of the file:
::MW,POI_ALERT_1*DISTANCE_TYPE_1000,0,0,141;1,"Poi Alert 1"
::MW,POI_ALERT_1*DISTANCE_TYPE_800,0,0,141;1,"Poi Alert 1"
::MW,POI_ALERT_1*DISTANCE_TYPE_600,0,0,141;1,"Poi Alert 1"
::MW,POI_ALERT_1*DISTANCE_TYPE_400,0,0,141;1,"Poi Alert 1"
::MW,POI_ALERT_1*DISTANCE_TYPE_100,0,0,141;1,"Poi Alert 1"

::MW,POI_ALERT_2*DISTANCE_TYPE_1000,0,0,141;2,"Poi Alert 2"
::MW,POI_ALERT_2*DISTANCE_TYPE_800,0,0,141;2,"Poi Alert 2"
::MW,POI_ALERT_2*DISTANCE_TYPE_600,0,0,141;2,"Poi Alert 2"
::MW,POI_ALERT_2*DISTANCE_TYPE_400,0,0,141;2,"Poi Alert 2"
::MW,POI_ALERT_2*DISTANCE_TYPE_100,0,0,141;2,"Poi Alert 2"

Notice the 141;1 for alert 1 and 141;2 for alert 2
Now look at Mikey's revised inf:

::MW,POI_ALERT_1*DISTANCE_TYPE_1000,0,0,141,1000;;UNITS,"Speed Camera Alert"
::MW,POI_ALERT_1*DISTANCE_TYPE_800,0,0,141,800;UNITS,"Speed Camera Alert"
::MW,POI_ALERT_1*DISTANCE_TYPE_600,0,0,141,600;UNITS,"Speed Camera Alert"
::MW,POI_ALERT_1*DISTANCE_TYPE_400,0,0,141,400;UNITS,"Speed Camera Alert"
::MW,POI_ALERT_1*DISTANCE_TYPE_100,0,0,141,100;UNITS,"Speed Camera Alert"
::MW,POI_ALERT_1*DISTANCE_TYPE_50,0,0,141,50;UNITS,"Speed Camera Alert"

::MW,POI_ALERT_2*DISTANCE_TYPE_1000,0,0,142,1000;;UNITS,"Red Light Camera Alert"
::MW,POI_ALERT_2*DISTANCE_TYPE_800,0,0,142,800;UNITS,"Red Light Camera Alert"
::MW,POI_ALERT_2*DISTANCE_TYPE_600,0,0,142,600;UNITS,"Red Light Camera Alert"
::MW,POI_ALERT_2*DISTANCE_TYPE_400,0,0,142,400;UNITS,"Red Light Camera Alert"
::MW,POI_ALERT_2*DISTANCE_TYPE_100,0,0,142,100;UNITS,"Red Light Camera Alert"
::MW,POI_ALERT_2*DISTANCE_TYPE_50,0,0,142,50;UNITS,"Red Light Camera Alert"

See now that 141;1 changes to just 141 and 141;2 changes to 142. So it will look for the 142 file now.

Make sure your inf file looks something like this.

As I said before, with destinator OP they seemed to have messed up the programming and am still looking for a fix. Yours may be the same.

This might sound like a daft question but you have got the speed cams and redlight cams in seperate catergories named auto alert 1 and auto alert 2?

Do you have the following command at the bottom of the inf file

::SW,FAVORITES_ALERT,0,0,141,"Favorites Alert"

same problam with me. i have the sound files, I have two files -Auto_Alert1.dat and Auto_Alert 2.dat in my FAVOR directory, and all I get is this 141 massage.

I think you can not innitiate a different voice file for every POI (point-of-interest) that you have in your favorite folder. (I mean the ones that we entered - cameras and speed...)
I tried to change the POI_ALERT lines :
// I added the word ----within;XX;meters----
::MW,POI_ALERT_1*DISTANCE_TYPE_1000,0,0,W_S_T;within;1000;meters,"Poi Alert 1"
::MW,POI_ALERT_1*DISTANCE_TYPE_800,0,0,W_S_T;within;800;meters,"Poi Alert 1"
::MW,POI_ALERT_1*DISTANCE_TYPE_600,0,0,W_S_T;within;600;meters,"Poi Alert 1"
::MW,POI_ALERT_1*DISTANCE_TYPE_400,0,0,W_S_T;within;400;meters,"Poi Alert 1"
::MW,POI_ALERT_1*DISTANCE_TYPE_100,0,0;W_S_T;within;100;meters,"Poi Alert 1"
::MW,POI_ALERT_1*DISTANCE_TYPE_50,0,0;W_S_T;within;50;meters,"Poi Alert 1"

::MW,POI_ALERT_2*DISTANCE_TYPE_1000,0,0,141;2,"Poi Alert 2"
::MW,POI_ALERT_2*DISTANCE_TYPE_800,0,0,141;2,"Poi Alert 2"
::MW,POI_ALERT_2*DISTANCE_TYPE_600,0,0,141;2,"Poi Alert 2"
::MW,POI_ALERT_2*DISTANCE_TYPE_400,0,0,141;2,"Poi Alert 2"
::MW,POI_ALERT_2*DISTANCE_TYPE_100,0,0,141;2,"Poi Alert 2"
::MW,POI_ALERT_2*DISTANCE_TYPE_50,0,0,141;2,"Poi Alert 2"

::MW,POI_ALERT_3*DISTANCE_TYPE_1000,0,0,141;2,"camera1"
::MW,POI_ALERT_3*DISTANCE_TYPE_800,0,0,141;2,"camera1"
::MW,POI_ALERT_3*DISTANCE_TYPE_600,0,0,141;2,"camera1"
::MW,POI_ALERT_3*DISTANCE_TYPE_400,0,0,141;2,"camera1"
::MW,POI_ALERT_3*DISTANCE_TYPE_100,0,0,141;2,"camera1"
::MW,POI_ALERT_3*DISTANCE_TYPE_50,0,0,141;2,"camera1"

::MW,POI_ALERT_4*DISTANCE_TYPE_1000,0,0,141;2,"camera2"
::MW,POI_ALERT_4*DISTANCE_TYPE_800,0,0,141;2,"camera2"
::MW,POI_ALERT_4*DISTANCE_TYPE_600,0,0,141;2,"camera2"
::MW,POI_ALERT_4*DISTANCE_TYPE_400,0,0,141;2,"camera2"
::MW,POI_ALERT_4*DISTANCE_TYPE_100,0,0,141;2,"camera2"
::MW,POI_ALERT_4*DISTANCE_TYPE_50,0,0,141;2,"camera2"

// my changes from now on original---SW,Auto_ALERT_1,0,0,141,"Favorites Alert"

::MW,AUTO_ALERT_1*DISTANCE_TYPE_1000,0,0,W_S_T;2,within;1000;meters,"AUTO_ALERT_1"
::MW,AUTO_ALERT_1*DISTANCE_TYPE_800,0,0,W_S_T;2,within;800;meters,"AUTO_ALERT_1"
::MW,AUTO_ALERT_1*DISTANCE_TYPE_600,0,0,W_S_T;2,within;600;meters,"AUTO_ALERT_1"
::MW,AUTO_ALERT_1*DISTANCE_TYPE_400,0,0,W_S_T;2,within;400;meters,"AUTO_ALERT_1"
::MW,AUTO_ALERT_1*DISTANCE_TYPE_100,0,0;W_S_T;2,within;100;meters,"AUTO_ALERT_1"
::MW,AUTO_ALERT_1*DISTANCE_TYPE_50,0,0;W_S_T;2,within;50;meters,"AUTO_ALERT_1"

::MW,AUTO_ALERT_2*DISTANCE_TYPE_1000,0,0,W_S_C;2,"AUTO_ALERT_2
::MW,AUTO_ALERT_2*DISTANCE_TYPE_800,0,0,W_S_C;2,"AUTO_ALERT_2"
::MW,AUTO_ALERT_2*DISTANCE_TYPE_600,0,0,W_S_C;2,"AUTO_ALERT_2"
::MW,AUTO_ALERT_2*DISTANCE_TYPE_400,0,0,W_S_C;2,"AUTO_ALERT_2"
::MW,AUTO_ALERT_2*DISTANCE_TYPE_100,0,0,W_S_C;2,"AUTO_ALERT_2"
::MW,AUTO_ALERT_2*DISTANCE_TYPE_50,0,0,W_S_C;2,"AUTO_ALERT_2"
but nothing happened.

So I found out that the alerts is coming only from this line:
::SW,FAVORITES_ALERT,0,0,141,"Favorites Alert"

So - I raised my hands...Laughing Out Loud
any suggestions?

BTW - I'm using Destinator PN (it's 5th version)

Hi,

It seems that destinator Op is not the only version to suffer from the programming anomoly then. Mikey F had destinator 3 and his worked ok with 2 seperate voice alerts but he did not have this line:

::SW,FAVORITES_ALERT,0,0,141,"Favorites Alert"

I find that if I alter this command I get silence. According to my instructions I am supposed to be able to get 3 seperate settings for alerts. These being : auto alert 1; auto alert 2; and favorites alert. And any other catergories outside of these 3 should not get an alert. However, I can get an alert for every catergory I create but all the settings are the the same for one and all. Therefore it stands to reason that we can't get it give different voice file.

Now Destinator 3, I think, Can only get 2 sepertae alerts (auto alert 1 and 2) and can get different settings for each. This can therefore use a different voice file. Destinator 3 does not have the single word command:

::SW,FAVORITES_ALERT,0,0,141,"Favorites Alert"

Rami, I am assuming that you changed this command to this:

SW,Auto_ALERT_1,0,0,141,"Favorites Alert"

or was this second command already in your script?

If I changed the begining of the command I would get no voice at all until I changed it back to SW,FAVORITES_ALERT.

I actuially found that I could delete the whole multi-word command section for poi alert 1 and poi alert 2 and it did not seem to make any difference.

Ultimatley. Destinator did not mean for the programming to be as it is. As standard you should be getting seperate alerts and seperate settings.

I need to find a way around this. It is in the maneuver script so it must be something in the programming that is causing the commands not to be recognised.

I also noticed that one can delete the whole POI lines and still get the 141 "warning, poi ahead" alert.
I did try to change the last command (the ::SW,FAVORITES_ALERT,0,0,141,"Favorites Alert")- but I didn't get different alerts for different distance/type of POI.

It is frustrating - mainly becouse you can't test it at home after you do change. ...Laughing Out Loud...

Hope someone will "pick up the glove."
(excuse my language, I'm from Israel ;-) )

Very frustrating. Even more so that I emailed Destiantor about it weeks ago and still no reply.

I will try to see if it can be fixed.

Ps. I am sure I saw someone post a link to a patch for detinator pn. Check out their website and see it might fix the prob. Unfortunatley Destinator Op is not even mentioned on the site but I am unsure if it will be the same as destinator nd as this is also for pna's.

Let me know how you get on.

Pete
