pin 570 IrDa problems

This is my first posting. After looking through this excellent forum I decided to buy a pin 570. I am very pleased.

Everything seems to work perfectly except the infra red port. My PC (XP Home SP2) does not see it at all.

I am using a USB IrDa adaptor that works perfectly with two Nokia phones, so seems ok. If I send a contact from one of the phones to the 570 it accepts it fine. If I send from the 570 to a phone it always fails the first time and then always works the second time.

When trying to establish the connection from the 570 it sometimes shows the name of my pc, sometimes not.

I went back to the shop I bought it from and tried their display one. It behaved exactly the same way, so it doesn't seem to be a fault (unless they all have the same fault).

Can anyone shed any light on this problem.
