The same thing happens at exactly the same place

Thanks for the swift reply. It turns off in exactly the same place every time, whether the sd card is in the slot or not. If I leave the unit on, it remains on.
Is there any way of formatting the sd card and the sat nav unit so that it's as it was when it was manufactured?
I'm asking this because the previous owner left songs etc on the card, and may possibly have caused the problem with it (I wouldn't have thought it would have had this problem from new).
