Any ideas about getting voices changed in newer i3's without the removable cards?

Hello Everyone,

There are few people who dont have the skills to edit the files within the garmin unit,

wouldnt it be benificial to everyone if those people who have the skills were kind enough to share their completed voice files for all to download Confused Question

just a thought .....

once my transflash reader/writer comes ill get busy making voice files and host them on a site for you all to try!

Regards

if people want to email me their voice files i can set up a page with them all on - or if you can host them yourselves i'll be happy to host a page linking to them all.

It should be possible using WebUpdater, and spoofing the DNS lookup or hosts file to look to a third-party website (instead of Garmin's) to "update" the voice with a customised one.

If I get a spare couple of hours, I'll take a look... Wink

I've got the C510D, and I can see and copy the voice files from the Garmin Hard Drive - couldn't one edit the file and then copy back to the GPS?

Newby hesitates - just in case!!!!!!

I've customised my voice file, now - I've only changed two bits, though:-

Recalculating - changed to Homer's "D'oh"
Bong bong (ie alert tone) - changed to Bart's "Aye Carumba"

So inital speed camera warnings get the latter, and recalculating gets both - alert first, then recalculating.

It would be interesting to here what bits others have replaced - more as an idea thing?
