even though its for an i3, I tried it on my C510, the split program ran, but then crashed out.

It did seem to create all the files, but then the names of the files did not tie up with the actual sample, eg Destination.wav says "Drive"

Any ideas about getting voices changed in newer i3's without the removable cards?

It should be possible using WebUpdater, and spoofing the DNS lookup or hosts file to look to a third-party website (instead of Garmin's) to "update" the voice with a customised one.

If I get a spare couple of hours, I'll take a look... Wink

Did you get anywhere with this idea?

I ask because I've just bought myself an i3 on Comet's £99.99 offer (instead of just playing with my brothers), and this is one of the newer units.

I suppose I could just swap it with my brother for his older unit ...

Bottom right just below the last posting in a thread says "All times are GMT + 10 Hours".

I have written some code to extract all the samples from the nüvi 300 file (slightly different to the streetpilot) I have 117 samples extracted from the .vpm file.

If I change any single sample and regenerate the single vpm file all the samples go off the skew!!

Does anyone know the file structure for the first 2311 bytes? I guess this is where the start address for each sample is located? where are the values i need to modify?

If anyone can help me with this I will happily release a user friendly nüvi voice editor util for all to use!
