Would you bloody believe it.
I spent days (it may even have been weeks) mucking about with S.Cs ' Quick Add Cam ' which worked only with 5.202, finally I gave up due to problems with the MNU & CAP files & dumped the application altogether.
Pocket GPS then launch ' POI Capture ' fantastic I say to myself, could it be that the £10 donation that I made was the last sum of cash needed to launch this new add on for my TTG (wishful thinking)
Having updated to 5.42 & got back most of the Poi's that I wanted (39 instead of 27) only to have the dilemma of having to choose the return of the missing Poi's, ( thank you Tomtom ) which needs 5.42 to work or POI Capture (thank you Lutz & Pocket GPS) which needs 5.202 to work.
For the life of me I just cant decide which to have.
The thing that puzzles me is why Tomtom &/or Pocket GPS have not managed to incorporate both of the above Applications or at least one of them into 5.42, surely they want us to use 5.42
Finally I would like thanks to Scaredy Cat & Lutz for all there efforts in producing both Applications.
I guess its a case of 2 SD cards will have to travel with me, one with the extra poi's & one with POI Capture. _________________ TTG 300,External Aerial

Well, having installed ' POI Capture ' I can honestly say it will be coming straight off again.
Yes it does what it says on the tin as did Scaredy Cats cam app, but surprise surprise the bloody thing is not on page 1 (same as Scaredy Cats) but on page four (same as Scaredy Cats).
Four presses just to get to Capture POI, another press to activate it, another press to select the type of camera, another press or maybe two to choose the speed, another press to state which side of the road it is on, up to N I N E presses to log the camera you have got to be kidding.
By the time my girlfriend got to log the camera we were a mile up the road, she already had the hump because I asked her to come for a quick drive to test the application. (Well it was after 2 am)
Please, Please Please do not suggest that I edit the mnu file as many people on this site and mytomtomgo.com will testify that on my 300 that will cause problems with the connect to phone access.
I am sad to say this application is not for me, I would rather have 5.42 and my 39 poi's. _________________ TTG 300,External Aerial

the reason that 5.2 is used instead of 5.4 os that as yet there is no sdk support for 5.4. In the sdk regstry file is a .mmu file this file is the one you should use to replace the current .mmu file you are using poi capture will then sit on the first screen
We will of course update to to 5.4 as soon as the sdk becomes available _________________ currently using aponia truck navigation on windows phone. Good bye IOS don't let the door hit you on the way out .

Which is exactly what is causing your issue with the capture icon not appearing on Page1. If you used the .mnu file we supply then it would be where we intended it on Page 1. _________________ Darren Griffin

I read the following on the Poi Capture page.
You must be using a version of Tomtom software that supports add on applications. Currently we have tested with 5.202 on the GO.
Are you now saying that your version of 5.202 is different to Scaredy Cats 5.202
Surely 5.202 is 5.202 no mater where you get it from. _________________ TTG 300,External Aerial

For some reason the .mnu file is invisible, I am unable to locate this file. Have used all the tricks I know, yet this little sucker eludes me. Having checked the download, there is no sign of the .mnu file within the SDK folder and having installed the folder onto the TTG the Capture POI is on the last page

I have downloaded 5.202 again & put it on my unit but things have gone well strange.
I now have Poi Capture on page 1 but also another four of them on page five, where that came from I do not know & my connect to phone has gone, see below.
and this this is in its place (below)
With this menu I cannot pair phone(s) _________________ TTG 300,External Aerial

I replaced the phone entry with
MENUITEM|TASK_DIAL_POI|
Now I have no phone icon at all just an empty space on one of the pages. _________________ TTG 300,External Aerial
