Pocket PC 2003 Freezing

Something Mike and myself have experienced a lot of is freezing of the iPAQ 2210 running Windows Mobile 2003. Xscale.de have posted a note (translated via Google) which suggests there are known issues with Pocket PC 2003 hanging, and there is a small fix available. Now I wouldn't recommend using this fix until this has been cleared by Microsoft or HP, but it sounds as though they may be onto something. The translated text is below...



"Since few days is well-known the first "serious error" of the Windows mobile 2003 of operating system.



The nose ensures for the fact that an internal database is extended after each soft RESET by 3 entries. These are always identical and do not only eat storage capacity, the system can after approximately 30 RESETS also up to 1-2 minutes hang or even completely freeze. Starting from 50 RESETS the establishment of contact becomes difficult ActiveSync to impossible.

Yes, 2210's come pre-installed with Windows Mobile 2003.

I am experiencing the same problem of the h2210 completely locking up, particulary when negotiating traffic circles.



Have downloaded the unofficial fix, but it will not execute (desperation sends one to the point of risking all!). I get the following Application Error message:

The application failed to initialize properly (0xc0000135)



Any ideas on how to apply the fix will be most welcome.
