Well done to both PGPS and the Police.... although I've not been affected by this I can understand what it may feel like to those that it does and those that later find out they have recieved stolen property after buying it.

I had never been able to understand the feeling of violation that victims get until I suffered a theft from my own home. It is really gut wrentching to realise that someone has been in your house and stolen from you. It was worse in our case as we were in the house at the time.

If we can do anything to help re-unite people with their personal possessions then I feel we may be of some use after all. Theft from parked cars is so much easier especially in a dark carpark. The only safe thing to do is to remove all valuables from the car. I know I do. I have a big backpack that holds all my gear leaving nothing for a thief.

If you are interested in how you can protect your GPS and other equipment you might like to visit the PocketGPSWorld.com GPS Event at Basingstoke where the police will be on hand to offer advise.

I'm not an iPod user, but perhaps they have a forum where it can be requested?

better govt that actually makes the punishment fit the crime to me any theft of property from a house or car or shop should be given 5 yrs with no remission and no bleeding heart liberal saying some one had there teddy nicked when they where a baby and that made them turn to crime

if we has a simple rule book that if caught doing whatever crime you new the punishment then there would be no excuse
