Sad
I have just purchased a 2nd hand HP IPaq 2210 with what I beleive is a BT77 bluetooth GPS and TOMTOM5.

I can pair up with GPS and it flashes away but if I check connection status it says connected but no bytes received or sent. Signal strength comes up blue - just right.

In Bluetooth active connections I get outgoing connections : BT GPS SPP Slave and Incoming connections : nothing.

It also drops the connection after about 1-2 mins.

When you open tomtom it says no GPS device!

I am assured this worked before it was posted.

Do I need to know configuration instructions - what are they?
Should there be an instruction manual or software disk?

Can anyone HELP?!

Did you get the original TomTom install CD's with this or is it a copy? Also are you using SD or CF memory cards?

It came on the memory card - he already had it installed and was using it.

So no install CD's? In other words it is either a copy or he's kept the originals. Either way it's not a legal installation I'm afraid.

Does that explain why it is not connecting properly?

Do you think if I purchase my own copy of TomTom it should pick up the GPS or do you still think I have a GPS problem?

No, configured correctly it 'could' work but having established you don't posess a legitimate copy we can't help in these forums. Also you might have trouble if you try to install an update and you would not be eligible for discounted upgrades maps etc. If your device hard resets at any time you will not be able to re-install TomTom either.

Best advice would be to invest in a legitimate copy and I would urge you to get a CF Card for map storage. The 2210 has an issue if you use Bluetooth GPS and maps on SD cards. No problem with CF, I still use a 2210 and it's a brilliant PocketPC.
