Good that we have a section dedicated to idiots hmm sorry i meant bikers Laughing

As i previously posted i have just bought a CBR600 FY 2000 model prity smart for my first bike.

I was looking for feedback on any satnav you use are have used and your comments. I have an I-mate Jam and TomTom i use and put the 236 under my seat or in my pocket but was looking for more touring GPS.

Does anyone know of any simple tracking software or speed recording software so i can track my speed etc??

Anyway any thoughts would be appreciated.

Sorry Steven, posted on Darren thread. My Garmin 12map logs and you can set the intervals to time or distance. It's old hence small memory but MS Autoroute will download the data and you can see your speeds v's Lon/Lat. Dangerous if the police take it off you perhaps!!!

New handheld stuff must do the same?

I use an IPAQ inside an Otterbox Rain proof mounted with Ram mounts used for about 6 months with no problems.
Only needs 2 connections one to power the Ipaq and one for audio via my Starcom intercom.
Hope this helps.
I have a 1300 Pan European and a Honda Hornet. Smile

Memory-Map is quite useful as it creates a tracklog that can be exported to the PC version of MM. This has speed, altitude etc which can be viewed on the map and as graphs. You can file and save these tracks.

Got some from a flight to Turkey and Eurostar to Paris, pretty neat and you can also 'fly' a 3d map of the track on the PC client.

My 2610 tracks speed, course, time etc in the log and when downloaded back into Mapsource could be used to give date, time, speed on any given section of my route.

I switched this facility OFF, don't want to help convict myself in the unlikely event that I'd be stopped for exceeding any speed limit(s) Wink

Probably a bit paranoid, but....

Hello fellow CBR owner.

I have a Streetpilot i3, which I don't really plan on using on the bike Laughing Out Loud, but I have tested it by sticking it on the rev counter.

But any excuse for a photo.

It's an '05 F model, I got it in March. I've covered 5300 miles, gone through 1 rear tyre and a service Laughing Out Loud.
It now has a Blue Flame Twin Port Titanium end can, a Powerbronze Airflow Screen and a Hugger on it now.

My Triumph has done quite a few miles so really needs changing for something new, current favourite as a replacement is a GSXR750R :D Seeing your 1000 makes me think should I get the bigger bike 8O

GPS, have you been to the ring? I can just see the sticker just above the brake light.

Well spotted.
I've been to the 'Ring every year for the last 4, back again in May '06.
Although to tell the truth I prefer the road riding in the area to the track itself,
this picture however was taken in the West of Scotland.

My 2 favorite places on the bike western/north western Scotland
and Eifel & Hunsruck region of Germany.

that must be why my pic is smaller, not only is it only 60%
(I'm guessing it's a 1000) of the CC, but also it was NEVER that clean and
I 'm sure that the continued need for washing has shrunk it Laughing Laughing
