I'm sure I remember finding a site a while back that showed TomTom for sale in the USA. Are any versions of TomTom for sale in the USA, obviously with USA maps, or are there any plans to? Particularly for TomTom Mobile.

yes, you can buy the US/Canada maps online, and use them on any device - even though TomTom Mobile is not on sale over here (for whatever reasons). _________________ Lutz

Sorry to be a pain, but do you have a link?
TomTom.com only shows maps for Europe.
Googling "Tomtom maps usa" brings up USA maps for TomTom GO, and I'm a little confused as to whether this is the same system.
I would hate to buy maps, then find out they can't be used with TomTom Mobile, obviously! |

It's the same system. Maps are not bound to a device until you activate them. You can use the "Go" maps with a Pocket PC, a Smartphone, or a Palm. Heck, even with the emulator. _________________ Lutz

I have installed the tomtom navigator USA maps on my SD card to work with TTM5. I can load the maps and advance plan routes, view instructions as text/images, in fact do pretty much everything. When I try to demo route however the screen shows me travelling along a complete featureless route ie no roads, places etc just blank terrain. I'm worried that when I get to the States I'm going to have problems with live routes. Any thoughts? |

you may have had a problem during map copying. Make sure your file explorer does not hide files/extensions. _________________ Lutz
