Hi all,
Is there any posibility to shut of the "power save" mode on the T5?
I'm getting frustrated when I use tomtom 5 to navigate and don't want to use the power cord in the car.
The damn thing goes in to power save mode and l have to power it up again and wait for it to find the BT reciever.

I want to turn of the power save mode to be able to navigate short distances without power cord. Say you use it when riding a bike, I dont have a power outlet on my bike! Wink

Please help.

Try using a program called 'handyaid' - use the 'display saver group' function to disable auto-off, dim and display-off.

Thanks for the answer ellio7!

I took a look at the Handyaid prog but I don't want to buy a software just for this so I did some googeling and came up with this solution instead. :D

"Palm Auto-off automaticaly if it's not used. It's useful to save batteries BUT the time duration in "preferences" allows to choose between 30'', 1,2' ou 3'. Sometimes is too short.

This tip will allow to avoid auto-off but you switch-off your Palm.

Create a new Memo
Draw the special symbol (the one that looks sort of like a a up side down Y) from "text Graffiti"area
Made 2 quick taps (as you write a point)
Write a 3 in "numeric Graffiti " area.
The text below will be inserted in the memo :
[No Auto-Off]

To remove it, set again in "Prefs" a new value"
Stolen from here

Canman,

Impressive!

In all my years of palm geekdom I have never come across this before. Congratulations on your persistence...and on saving money too! :D

The instruction "Made 2 quick taps (as you write a point)" was a bit misleading. all you need do is write 1 point so you get somthing like this (& symbol used to indicate special palm symbol):

&.3

As soon as you write the "3" the whole line is replaced with the [No Auto-Off] line.
hope this clears it up for others.
