Hi

Just wondering with one of these how do you direct GPS to a named address instead of a number i.e.

Manor Farm
Manor Farm Estate
Anywhere
UK
AA2 2KK

As I find no way to do this sometimes and postcodes can lead you on a wild goose chase sometimes!

Thanks

You can't directly. You can only do Postcode/Town and check road to see if the road is mentioned. If not, you've got a very large area covered by a 5 digit Postcode. Centre of City/Town is not always a good option either.

Roll-on 7 digit Postcode lookup.

Even full postcodes are not always useful. I was trying to find a hotel in London, but the postcode directed me to a PO mailbox address about half a mile away! I eventually found a street map location and stored the coords in the iCN510 as a temporary favourite.

Agreed, and that is the problem with companies that have Post Box Postcodes, but the Postcodes are more often right than wrong.

Ahh... the old "Tell me how to get there - I don't know where I am going" problem :D
Ask yourself how would you find the location if you had a paper street map? These expensive navigation units can only help you if the information you have about where you are going matchs the information they have programmed into them. Street names, postcodes and areas is the standard way, so when getting an address, insist on a combination of the above.
