was going over the tomtom rider site and they have a pic of the bluetooth and the connecting cables and it looks like it would be possible to connect it to an autocom. Has anyone got any further info on this.seeing as all you moderators had a nice day out at tomtom I thought you might have seen a bit more on the rider or even be doing a test on it . _________________ Asus Zenfone 2 twin sim, Garmin Zumo 550, 660 and pocketgps speed camera database

Rider will come with a BT headset, so you'll be able to get voice guidance via BT. I don't know if they provided for the autocom interface. |

How would the Autocom interface connect? RIDER has a Bluetooth Handsfree unit with no physical interfaces on the device itself. Could you connect the Bluetooth Handsfree module (which has a standard 3.5mm socket) to the intercom? _________________ Darren Griffin - Editor |

yes but if you look on their web site at the pics of the rider the last one shows a bluetooth receiver then a set of wires with what looks 3.5 pliugs on for the speaker and mic. if thats the case then it may well connect to an autocom and then I can stop waiting for the quest2 and go for the rider instead especially as i have progressed (if thats the right phrase) through TT2,TT3 and now TT5 _________________ Asus Zenfone 2 twin sim, Garmin Zumo 550, 660 and pocketgps speed camera database

I 'might' have one in front of me ;) but I'm not sure I understand your point!
As there are pictures of this on TomTom's website I don't think I'm giving anything away here. The Bluetooth receiver is a battery operated module into which you can plug either a standard handsfree lead with earpiece and mic or a helmet specific speaker which has velcro and mic etc. Both have 3.5mm plugs to connect to the 3.5mm socket on the BT unit.
If the autocom can connect to the 3.5mm socket on the BT unit then it may work, is this what you mean? _________________ Darren Griffin - Editor |

Yes that sounds right the standard connector for an autocom is 3.5 plugs thats how I connect my Ipaq 3970 ,mp3 player and mobile phone some are stereo and others mono.
Well if you want to try and mate the two I have an autocom and do wander round a bit 8O _________________ Asus Zenfone 2 twin sim, Garmin Zumo 550, 660 and pocketgps speed camera database

In touring bikes a lot already have either autocom or starcom or in the states others as well , so most have cables rigged to helmets already but a lot would be interested if they could easily connect the Rider and even make calls through it via bluetooth . The biggest problem on a bike is space and running cables safely .This could save at least 2 connectors and make putting a satnav on the bike easier but not a lot would junk there intercom as it allows pillions in on all the sounds as well
I do ramble a bit at times but I know what I mean ! _________________ Asus Zenfone 2 twin sim, Garmin Zumo 550, 660 and pocketgps speed camera database

I'm familiar with it but as I never take pillions it's never been an isuse for me! Besides my ex-Police R1100Rt only has one seat! _________________ Darren Griffin - Editor |

No But it does still have a headlight flasher and alternating rear fogs. Not for use on the Queen's highway of course. _________________ Darren Griffin - Editor |
