I became the proud owner of a TomTom GO 500 yesterday. I've been using Navigator on a PPC for a while now, but wanted something less problematic.

I followed the instructions to the letter, and got it working fairly quickly. I had to reset my Traffic subscription so that I could use it with the GO instead of the PPC, but even that worked fairly quickly.

That was yesterday.

Today, I can't connect to Traffic. The message I get ("Cannot connect to TomTom Traffic. Please check your mobile phone") suggests that it's a problem with my phone (a Sony Ericsson S700i - which was in the list of phones that the internet setup wizard gave me). Based on my experiences with Traffic, and based on what I've read elsewhere on this forum, I'm more inclined to think it's a problem with TomTom's servers. Also, I just unpaired the phone, and went through the pairing wizard again, which included setting up the internet connection. There were no problems with the setup, and it claimed to have sent some data to the server.

So why isn't Traffic working? Any ideas? Is it my phone or provider? I use Vodafone Live...

One more thing to point out...

When using my PPC, it used my phone as a modem, and opened an internet connection. When this happened, a symbol appeared on my phone indicating that a GPRS connection had been opened. I don't get this when connecting (or trying to) from the GO. I do have the "hands-free" symbol displayed though - because I'm also using the GO as a hands-free for my phone.

By the way, when I set up the internet settings on the Go, it asked me for my Traffic username and password. How do I change these on the GO?

Geraint, did you find a solution to your question? I have the same problem.
