Hey guys,

I have just had a Nokia car kit CK-7W fitted to my car and the official Nokia CR-27 holder all works fine, sound through the car's front speakers abd mutes the radio.

Problem is when I have tomtom running all my directions are diverted through my car's front speakers which sounds great, problem is that it completely mutes out the car stereo regardless of a direction or not. If tomtom is on then stereo is muted.

Anyone know a way around this?

Cheers

Victor

Hi.... I have the same issue but with a Parrot CK3000 bluetooth car kit, TomTom Mobile 5 doesn't release the audio after a voice instruction .. it is possible as I have a friend running Route 66 on his Nokia 6680 (same phone as me) and Route 66 does actually release the audio back to the CD/Radio player after a voice instruction... Guess this is something TomTom have missed ..... Hopefully they'll plug this gap soon as it is the only thing really letting it down in my opinion..

If you here of a work around/fix please let me know ... I'll do the same if I stumble on a way round this...

I'm guessing it's the app itseolf rather than the actual voice files that need fixing???

One way around this would be to have a switch installed in the stereo mute output from the handsfree,

Not an ideal sollution I know,

Carl,

I think Tomtom will eventually fix this .. if Route 66 can make it work with their software I'm sure the TomTom people can ...

Keep sending them emails about it maybe eventually they will release an update that fixes this!!

I've the same problem with a parrot ck3000 v3.13, and one nokia 6680 with V 3.04.35 12-05-05 RM-36 and tomtom mob. 5.
Also I tryed with a parrot ck3100 and the problem it's the same, only if I use route 66 the voice instructions works fine, release the voice mute when the voice ends.

Anybody know how to fix this issue with tomtom?? Confused

Thanks

CK3100 should work OK if you get the latest firmware installed...

I don't know what firmware version has ck3100 i can check and also I can upgrade it.

If upgrading parrot fix the problem, then i'll try to upgrade my ck3000 (it's more complicated, i haven't cable, and i can't upgrade via bluetooth, it's not supported).

energylevel, you have it working in a ck3000 or ck3100?

Will only work with CK3100 and latest firmware, won't work with CK3000 or CK3000 Evolution, so I wouldn't bother upgrading the firmware ...

That happened to me with tomtom 5.0. This is what I would do:
1. Press the 'c' key (disables tomtom sound).
2. Remove the Nokia 6680 from the cradle.
3. Wait till car stereo comes back on (up to 5 seconds perhaps)
4. Replace Nokia 6680 in cradle.
5. Car stereo mutes again but wait and it comes back on (after 5 seconds perhaps)

Unfortunately it meant a choice between music or tomtom sound. But it was a choice I would make.

If I remember correctly, tomtom would only mute the car stereo when it made a sound. So as step 6, I could press the 'c' key to re-enable sound. On journeys with few direction changes, I could have music and tomtom interruptions. I would go through the 6 steps after each tomtom interruption.

The Nokia 'phone charging' and 'phone charged' tones would mute the car stereo but only for a few seconds.

I upgraded to tomtom version 5.2 recently. Following your post, I checked and the problem appears to be fixed!

Thank you for your answer buphone, I was looking for tomtom upgrades in the web, but I can't find anything.

I upgrade my tomtom 5.0 to 5.2 and it's working fine: Nokia 6680+parrot ck3000 and my gps bluetooth, when the voice with the instructions ends release the mute in the radio.

I put the link in tomtom's web.

Best Regards.
