There seems to be a great similarity between TomTom's Jane and Fran Godfrey (of BBC Radio 2). Did she actually do the recordings? |

Why not email Terry Wogan and get him to ask her. Should be good for a bit of banter _________________ Various TomToms, Garmin eTrex Legend, GPSMAP 60CSx, Oregon 550t, Forerunner 405 |

I've emailed El-Tel, if they mention it on air let us know as I don't listen to R2 but I will keep you informed if they respond otherwise _________________ Darren Griffin |

I think it is none of these.
If you listen to the intonation and phrasing it seems to me to be that of a Dutch lady who speaks English very well but not perfectly.
What English speaker would say "GO right ON the roundabout" ?
We would say "TURN right AT the roundabout" wouldn't we ?
We have a Dutch friend who has lived in England some 40 years and sounds just like Jane _________________ Leigh

I agree, in fact, I have always thought that it sounded like a Dutch lady who had listened to a lot of BBC output, TomTom being a comany located in Holland, supports the theory.
Should we open a "book" on it??

Well its not Fran,
Quote: | I have one of those and I can tell you it's not Fran Godfrey as "Jane"...
She would have been much more bossy with her instructions.

Having though about it, and done a lot of listening, I agree. Listen very carefully for the soft rolling of the letter 'R'
Not something you would generally hear with that accent, however I am given to understand it is the correct english pronounciation. Not that I roll my 'r's myself, or being a northerner speak with good elocution
My mrs is a scouser though and I have just spent 2 years teaching her how to not roll her 'r's :x |
