Was thinking of getting one of these. Can get a Bel 990 for £250 or a valentine 1 for £330. Which is the better deal?



Also, does trafcam compare favourably to other dedicated gps camera databases e.g. geodesy or road angel. Does anyone have experience using them both?

If you don't mind paying a little more, the Bel Euro 550 superseded the 990 as a Europe wide detector, and you'll probably find this one better.



At the end of the day, you can detect for GATSO cameras, but any lasers that are used (very few now), will get you as soon as it alerts you. Most of these cameras are good for Fixed GATSO's, Mobile GATSO's, but most won't check for Truvello or S.P.E.C.S.



TrafCam does, and so does our speed camera database. Both Geodesy and Road Angel works well. The Road Angel has the extra benefit of having an output port for GPS to connect to a PDA and use as a receiver. I'd say the Road Angel packs more value for money.
