The difference is it has the ability to use an external antenna.

3450 is using the SIRF Star 2e/LP (Low Power) chipset, which means more standalone battery time/use.

OK... I think I understand that the 3450 has a longer battery life and accepts an external antenna. The extra battery life is great for roaming around on a bicycle or hiking.. I guess. But the ability to add an antenna begs the question... Does the Navman GPS 3450 or 3420 have issues working without the external antena?

thanks.

I bought a Navman once. It was absolute pants. I now have a Co-Pilot with an external antenna and it's top notch.

Possibly the Navman with external antenna will also be good but the signal without IMO it's not worth buying.

BTW Dave, I know I'm on the wrong topic, but any news on Co-Pilot V4

Nope, still waiting, got several calls open, messages on answer machines, even made a pact with the devil, but nothing yet.
