Hi Everyone,
I'm just waiting for my upgrade to arrive. I'm kken to know whether I have to load on the full uk map or just sections or parts like we were able to with TT3?
Does anybody know ?
If I have to have the full map I'll need a bigger sd card.
Also what will happen to my favorites if I have to have the full map ?
Regards,
Tim |

I didn't know you could only have part of the UK map? Are you sure about this?
Favourites are not transferrable as favourites, you have to make a POI file of them if you want to transfer them, which is crap.

I've installed the TTN5 update. As far as GB maps are concerned, you have a choice of 2 - "GB" or "GB Plus". I installed GB Plus, which is the whole of GB plus the major roads of Europe. There was no option to install only specified regions, and it's my guess that this is also true for GB - i.e it's the whole of GB or the whole of GB plus the major roads of Europe. _________________ Geraint

Back when TT2 and 3 came out, flash memory was expensive. So I assume they thought it a good idea to cut up maps for install. With 1Gb being about 40GBP then why split?
Okay I know TT3 traffic would check traffic status for whole of the current loaded map and therefore smaller maps better. But I've not tried that with TT3 or TT5 (company mobile doesn't have GPRS on) |

thanks for the reply. When I purxhased TT3 last year you could split the UK in 3 to keep the size down.
Thanks for all you help.

my old streetpilot used to have to do that and it was a right pain.
You had to faff around each time you went on a trip to make sure you had enough parts of the country on the card.
I much prefer having everything on one card!
