I have a car with built in blue tooth, a Sony Ericsson phone with bluetooth, tomtom gps wired to a dell axim. The dell axim also has bluetooth.

What I would like to acheive is..

The phone and the car communicate via bluetooth so I can make calls, the axim and the phone communicate so I can use traffic etc.

The issue is that the car bluetooth takes the phone as soon as I get in the car and does not release it until I switch the car off.

Does anyone know of a phone which will drop bluetooth if inactive?

Does anyone know of a phone which can take two bluetooth connections?

Failing this I'll get another phone and leave it in the car for gprs stuff.

Thanks
d

I did the latter in my X5 - hid the bluetooth GPS and bluetooth phone in the boot of the car (side panel) where it could get a lock and had permanent power.

Dont know if they still do it, but Orange used to plan match on contract, so I matched with Virgin mobile which doesn't have a monthly charge. I then paid £4 per month for GPS bundle and that was enough for updates every 5 minutes about 2 - 3 hours per working day.

The only other alternative I can think of would be to unbond (DELETE PAIRING) with the BMW bluetooth but then you lose the car's handsfree functionality.

Don't know of any phones that have the BT functionality you require, but if there are any you will probably find an answer in the forums here...
