|
|
Got my upgrade this morning and it comes with a free months trial of the TomTom Plus service. The confusing bit is that nowhere on the website does it say that there is a subscription payable for the service. It does say you a have to pay for some of the downloads, so are they free for a month or are there other benefits in using the trial?
Seems a bit strange having a free trial if all you need to do to use the service is to register.
Anybody have any ideas? |

I understand the above, but what does this free trial actually give you that you cant get from simply registering on the website? |

As I understand it, registering on the site doesn't mean much. You have to have a monthly subscrition 9 euros? to use the Plus service after your first month. Just like any of the other traffic services out there - traffic master, smart nav etc. On top of that you will have to pay for the GPRS downloads, which they say have been compressed as much as possible to keep costs down! |

The plus service costs 59.95 euros per year for the UK. The most expensive in Europe.

I thought that the amount you mentioned is for the traffic POIs.
I havent heard of the 9e charge, where is that mentioned, and what do you get for that money? |

I was wrong about the 9 euro charge/month - it is 59.95 euros per year.
I haven't checked what the cost of the camera poi's are, as I'm using the ones downloaded from the pocket gps world site. |

Does anyone know where we stand with existing Traffic subscriptions? I have an annual subescription for traffic which expires at the end of the year. I reactivated the traffic on TomTom 5 lastnight and it said my one month trial had started, has TomTom screwed me? ;-) |
