i have the speed camera database (as my previous post says)
but what id like to do is inut a different distance to warn me of a camera presence it currently has 50, 100, 400, 600, 800

but im not quite happy with these distances 50 is almost on top of the camera
100 is not quite far enough and 400 is a little to far
id like to have the option of 200 or 250 on there

how can i get this distance on there??

need help asap

Not a particularly helpful comment there, nunew33, especially without any smileys. 8O Wink

Cyclopops, I tend to use a distance of 400 metres for all fixed cameras (regardless of speed zone) and 1,000 metres for all mobile sites. That’s on GPSAssist with TTNav3, but the principle is the same for any SatNav using our camera database. Thumbs Up

Regards,

if there is part of the solution will be to understand and mess around with
\\device\Desitinator Aps\Destinator\Common\Interface\Voice\All\DestinatorVoiceManeuvers.inf

Im guessing the distances are fixed seeing as there is no indication of a keyword for distance other than those in the alert distance drop down.

Right this file does the drop down menu: DestinatorMSG.inf

look for IDS_DYNPOI_ALERTED_DISTANCES

I added 200 to list buty Setting the menu to this by itself does nothing

I tried adding these two lines to DestinatorVoiceManeuvers.inf
::MW,POI_ALERT_1*200,0,0,150,100;UNITS,"Poi Alert 1"
and
::MW,POI_ALERT_1*THIRD_DISTANCE,0,0,151,100;UNITS,"Poi Alert 1" as we know that third distance is 200.

Neither worked. I set first distance to 200 then second to 50. Only got 50 warnings. Ive trawled through the other files cant find anything else

Didnt try DISTANCE_TYPE_200, maye ill try that tonight and see what happens!!

Guys,
I am quite interested in this too, I have successfully downloaded the camera indicators onto my Acer N35, but, I am almost on top or have passed the camera before I am told I think 'Favourites one', is that correct, if so have we come to a final decision on if we can change distances to cameras?

Secondly is it me or does the delightful woman say 'ird' exit at roundabouts, I dont hear the 'th' at the beginning.

Good kit though........

Steve.

No luck. Although you can change the menu options they have obviously hard coded it. It simply ignores any other value.

Its a bit bizarre in that it wouldnt take that much to have a completely customisable warn distance within a specified range as long as you recorded the appropriate wav file to go with it.

Im not geeky to try anything else.

Regarding womans voice, that was the first thing to go. My 5 year old son now provides me with all the directions. Its incredibly easy to record your own directions. Took me 30 minutes with a 5 year old who wouldnt say things first time so should take 10 minutes for anyone else.

Dalek voice directions to come soon!

Steve 404 you can set the alerts to go off way before being on top of them, are you aware you can set two distances

Hit destinate button
Then favourites
Highlight Auto Alert 1 or 2 (as in make sure it has the blue highlight not jst a ticked box)
click on tools
select edit

hey presto- you can choose 2 warnings, same wav file though

As a matter of interest I cant get POI to work

You are supposed to see POIs on your map if check boxes ticked.
Does this work for you?
