Are you happy with your 510?

Ive had mine for a couple of weeks now and I love it. My sense of direction is so bad. U can walk me down a street, take me in a shop, and when I come out again I cant tell u which direction we came from.

As such a few years ago i was looking at these units like the Garmin etc but they were 1000s of pounds and had no voice prompts so I considered I probably wouldnt be able to understand the map on it anyway whilst driving so continued to stop every half mile and check my A-Z.

Now u can get these units for 300 notes and its like having a local guide with you all the time. it has totally changed my driving experience. if I had known how much I needed it and it was as good a few years back I would have paid the £2000 for one.

Thats how good I think it is.

I have used my 510 now for two lengthy journeys and have found my main criticism is the units used to announce "distance to go" to junctions, etc. I would prefer mainly tenths of a mile, instead of the 100s of feet. At least then I could use the car odometer to assess how far to go. Working out what "1100 feet" is while driving and watching for signs and junctions is not very easy.

My routing settings are:

Route Type - Near quickest (25% from L)
Motorways - Near More often (75% from L)
Urban roads - Near More often (75% from L)

These seem to give me the routes and roads I am comfortable with.
