Navman sleeve not locking up signal

I have a IPAQ 3600 Navman 3000 sleeve which has had to be reset after battery running low I am running TOMTOM 3 on it yet after the reinstall the GPS sees the sats but does not lock up (A 5450 with Navman SE 3450 sleeve which was reset at the same time is seeing the same sats and locking up just fine.)
Both systems have the 3.1.6 Navman driver loaded and version 3.0.7 GPS Driver.
Any clues to what might be missing here!!!???

Does the 3000 sleeve work with the 5450 and the 3450 sleeve work with the iPaq 3600? This is the best way to determine whether the problem is the sleeve or the iPaq.

I am aware that there were synchronisation problems with the 3000 sleeve. I think these were caused by interference between the iPaq and the sleeve. People managed to resolve this by inserting some form of insulation between the sleeve and the iPaq.
