A taxi driver wanted his GO directly suplied from the 12v from the car and an installer of taxi-equipment do this for him.
And (of course) the GO doesent work anymore.
He put the 12 volt directly into the GO and now the only thing that works is the green LED in the front.
What can be done? |
Hi
Please excuse my lack of knowledge I am new to this forum. I am also a Taxi driver and just wanted to know what u meant above where u mention he wanted his GO directly suplied from the 12v from the car. By this do u mean the car lighter socket or something else? ANy replies would be much appreciated. |

The TomTom GO comes with a sigarette lighter adapter who feeds the GO with 5 volts.
(The car 12 volt sigarette output is transformed to 5 volt inside the adapter)
Your coluege here in Norway did not want the sigarette adapter to show in his Taxi, so the mentioned Taxi- equipment company cut the adapter away - made a hidden instalation of the cable and connected the wires directly to 12 volt under the dashboard.
The result can you read in the earlier post's.
Hope this make this clear.
(It's a little bit late and I'm tired now, so you must excuse my strange english....) _________________ Gunnar Nystul, Forum Admin, TomTom Forum Norway and Nystul Navigasjon |
