Hi all my 168 freezes at various points whenever i try and back it up to my sd card. it will always get so far (always different points and then no more but the twirly circle still goes round). It will stay like this untill a soft reset. Any ideas what this could be?.

i dont know why it may be doing this as i have never tried backing onto my sd card, however i do backup onto my PC which i suggest dooing using ActiveSync. Just enable it in the options for when you connect it your computer.

What i was hoping to do was back up my tom tom so if i ever had to do a hard reset (or lost my battery power i believe) then i could just get my tom tom up and running again if i am not close to my pc. I have never owned a pocket pc so i am not sure if i would lose tom tom on loss of battery but i dont want to be in a position where i have to do a full install again.

i have run out of battery a few times on my mio 168 and so far have never lost any data, but i suppose backing up would secure your situation. (OR Carry your Car charger with you).

I have tried installing sprite onto my sd card so if i did lose all data then i have sprite to reinstall and no joy it freezes half way through, i put sprite onto my memory, it works but still frezzes when backing up to sd card. Backing up to pc is fine. Could this be an sd card problem
?.

Good to know about the battery though
