Tom Tom registry Hack and Checkpoint

I performed the registry hack on tom tom 3 which allows it to installed and run from the SD Storage card in my Ipaq5450. Speeds it up and it no longer frezzes with all the buttons now working whe they should. The only problem is that checkpoint will not load properly as it is obviously looking in a different place. Oh and if I have to hard reset I don't lose navigator or have to reload it.
Any techies knw the files to edit so it looks in the correct place.
Checkpoint is now also installed on the storage card after removing and reinstalling it choosing not to put it in the default location.

Sorry to be stupid but I did not understand your reply relating to the registry hack. Please could you let me know which article you are referring to?

I am hoping the article will help me to setup my IPAQ 5550 with Tom Tom 3 in such a way that it can withstand a hard reset without requiring reinstallation?

If I am on the wrong track I would very much appreciate a steer in the right direction.
