Hi all,
using TTN3 on my ipac 2210, I am experiencing some in accuracies when on the move. I am finding that i get to junctions, roundabouts, etc quite a bit before satnav is telling me which turn to take. Most offten it will still be giving the approchin instructions when i am already at the point where i need to be making the turn/decsions.
Is this some calibration issue, is there a setting some where i can adust to improve this? or have i dons some thing wrong on the PDA that affects processing speeds?
Please help,

make sure you have set your receiver to NMEA 4800 and standard serial port. Anything else may slow it down.
Use of a task manager (wisbar or similiar) is highly recommended to keep the amount of available RAM as high as possible. _________________ Lutz

When you stop at an intersection, how far away does TT say you are? If it is less than 20 yards/meters then this is pretty much within tolerances. Remember that the distance to the intersection is measured to the centre of the intersection, not the line that you stop at.
Also, the position shown on the GPS can lag behind reality by a second or so. _________________ Gone fishing! |

Hi,
Pardon me for butting in, but as a matter of interest which part of the blue arrow is intended to indicate your position?
Is it the tip or the centre?
I appreciate it is probably within tolerances anyway, but just curious.

ha funny. The arrow is smaller than the average position precision (which is 15 to 50 metres). But I would guess that the centre of the arrow corresponds to the computed position. _________________ Lutz

Hi all and thanks for responding,
My heavy work commitments limit my logging in at the moment.
lbendlin
I am using TTN3 wired GPS so from menus selecting SPG status, then the GPS tab shows in the bottom right corner v3.33 402/400.
The top field currently shows Tom Tom Navigator GPS, the nearest in this list to your discription is NMEA 0183v2 4800, is this ok to select?
The next field is currently set to serial cable on com1:
The next is set to d m.m, what is the effect of changing this to one of the other settings.(d m's or d.d)?
Also what is the zzz icon for?
What is a wisbar and how does that effect ram?
skippy
Didnt know about the center to intersection bit- thanks.
when i am at an intersection, tt says i am still 50 yards away???
