Meridian Colour has blank screen with latest firmware

I have upgraded to the latest firmware with my meridian colour but accidentaly left the original sd card from mapsend (Kit Europe) and now the screen has gone blank.
Ihave tried resetting it by holding down menu then pressing pwr but it just stays lit with the screen on.
i have also tried to connect the comm port lead to the gps meridian colour but it is not recognsing the baud rate (which i changed in the settings on my xp to 4800 as it says)but it just cant fing the connection.
Pleaseeee help!!!

I don't have a solution but urge you to get on the Magellan website and write to Technical Support. They've always responded within a couple of days and been very helpful.
