The kit is very good and simple to use (even the wife has figured it out) it does freeze very easily but the biggest problem by far is the total lack of response you get from Medion UK - I have even written to the MD but he has not had the courtesy to reply - I would be happy if he only told me to p--s o--!!!!

PCWorld are selling Medion MDPNA150 with UK & Ireland Maps for £199.97. Its true. I got mine a few weeks ago. You may find that your local store does not have them on display (mine didn't) and they are hidden away in a cupboard (I think some messed up on pricing and they are trying to cover it up) but they are for sale at that price. Just need to know how to get Speed Camera data onto mine now and I will be a very happy man. Does anyone know how to do this?

Hi all can someone just answer these quick questions for me?

Thinking of getting the PNA 175
1, Can the speed camera warner and camera POI be installed without hacking the machine to get the takbar up?

2,Does Medion offer updates to the maps and ifso at what price?

3, Also looking at the navman 510 but its alittle more expensive but is it worth it?

Cheers
Gav

I know only the following solution to use the POI files on Medion 150.
Im still looking for something different to try.

1) download the software POI WARNER MN4 (vers 2.6 - you have to buy it.
2) install it on Medion150 (attach the m150 to the pc and run the installation)
3) download the software (this time free!!) NH-Top50Trans (it is in german!!! but very very simple to figure out how the stuff works)
4) install it and download the TOM TOM's POI (speedcames in OV2 format) very common!
5) convert it to .ASC and .BMP loading the OV2 version with NH-Top50 software and after writing it in "POI WARNER" format.
6) Copy (with explorer) the .asc and .bmp created into POI WARNER directory (program files in the medion device - the directory is "pois")
7) activate the navigator and follow the POI WARNER instructions.

Smile

Don´t by medions MDPNA150.... it sucks

To many errors, and it locks all the time...

No service....no nothing!!

i agree with this

i have been using mine for over a year now and it always crashes or hangs when u really need it.

the battery needs to be kept charged up or it resets itself and you have to install the additional bits (speed camera d/base and taskbar) each time.

i wish i had spent more money towards a PDA style sat nav.

stay away from this model, its crap, i have emailed the company about missing cd's and for other support, they suck, they have never got back to me.

Mmmmmmm ! It's for sale at Aldi May 21st (tomorrow) at £149.99. After thinking initally that I would pop down at get one I think I'm changing my mind. If Medion UK don't respond (even the M.D. !!) to queries, and if the unit keeps freezing up it would seem to be silly to buy one.

Does anyone know if it displays the OS map co-ordinates in large clear characters? I don't particularly want maps, and certainly don't want an MP3 player - or phone - or kitchen sink etc, but co-ordinates is a 'must'

Things have moved on so fast in the last year that I reckon most of the older PNAs aren't worth worrying about. The latest kit is in a different league completely. Antennae have progressed to Sirff III which gives an impressive performance. My Medion GoPal copes well with a coated windscreen. Batteries are more reliable and the navigation software has come on by leaps and bounds.

Does anyone know how to get the uk speed camera data base onto a mediuon MDPNA150. There used to be a web page for this at the following address (http://www.active-soccer.co.uk/The%20Medion%20MDPNA%20150.htm) but it has now gone. PLEASE HELP - I can remember some of what this site listed to do but cannot remember how to change the siftware to warn me of cameras like 200 meteres ahead of the camera.
