Probably easier if you tell us what ROM version you are on and if this is an O2 XDAII or a variant? I use an XDAII with TTN3, Emtac BT and works a dream. However I needed to upgrade to v1.72 of the ROM before BT was reliable.

FWIW I'm now on the WM2003SE ROM (v2.02) that was posted on XDA-Developers, works well with landcsape switching etc albeit TTN3 can't take advantage of it Sad

ok heres my Device Info -

ROM Version - 1.72.00WWE
ROM Date - 03/15/04
Radio Version - 1.17.00
Protocol Version - 1337.28
ExtROM Version - 1.72.181

Also im using a Lexar 256mb SD card, but i've not read anything bad about these.

I was running TT 3 with Checkpoint software but as soon as i closed the checkpoint it stopped freezing, might do some more testing with this.

Would still be interested in hearing from other XDA II users.

Hi Chappy

Same firmware, same OS, cheapy MMC card (512MB) and using the GPS as shipped with TT3. No real probs except for a few hangs which needed a soft reboot. Sometimes gets bitter and twisted about order of setting bluetooth on and loading sw.

Sorry not much else to offer.

Regards

Your's are the same as mine except for the ExtROM Version.

The latest and final Xda II System Software is available for you to download in 2 different ROMs.

New and changed in these versions of software:

Incorporates end user update 2 from Microsoft
Improved power management with the Bluetooth Manager
O2 Active
Improvements to listening to music or video when streaming via GPRS

v1.72.187 software does not have Blackberry software built in.

v1.72.181 software upgrade, now available features Blackberry.

If you wish to configure CORPORATE Blackberry, Blackberry desktop software and userguide, is also required for the 181 ROM upgrade.

To enable Blackberry to work on your Xda, you must have an existing Corporate Blackberry account as well as a Blackberry enabled SIM.

This software is for Xda II purchased from O2 in the UK and Ireland.

In case anyone hasn't heard or is interested, XDA-Developers have posted a WM2003SE image that installs perfectly on the XDAII.

This brings landscape switching as the major new feature plus newer Windows Media Player, better BT Support.

If you've installed a ROM update before it's excatly the same procedure. I've had it on mine for a month or so now, BT ActiveSync works, BT Headset works, GPRS etc all working and browsing the web in landscape is much nicer.

Thabnks for info David

That looks really interesting. I went to the XDA Developers site but only found details of a ROM for O2 Australia which was posted by SIN.

Is this the one you are using or have I missed something here?

Andrew

It's Darren not David ;)

The forum post with download is here. I used the one referenced in this post with excellent results.

You do need to be logged in to the forums to access the download itself.

I think I have the same setup as xda with v1.72.187. Only I hacked it around a bit to remove the O2 active stuff. :P

It works fine with TomTom and has only ever locked up a couple of times. Maybe the SD card needs formatting with Pocket Mechanic to have FAT32, 1K cluster or something? This imporved mine a bit

Sorry Darren

So which version did you use the original with the three separate downloads or the single exe file uploaded by MAICHI?

Thanks
Andrew

PS I presume that I need to reinstall all app software after upgrade - dang that's a pain.

The original one. And yes you will end up with a fresh PDA so a full re-install of all apps will be necessary.

Darren
Are you able to use the BT headset and BT TT.
I've just got the XDA2i
headset works fine until I install TT3.01 then goes to pot.
Any ideas
John

I wouldn't install 3.01 on a Windows Mobile 2003 Second Edition machine - which the XDA2i is.

I'd install Navigator 3.07 and GPS 3.07 straight away, ideally without installing any earlier version. Does that solve the problem?
