HP IPAQ2210/ TT3.07/ Holux 230

Having just installed the above it seems to work fine but a few minutes later requests me to choose a BT device.

I reselect the holux and instantly it asks me to do the same again!

Any ideas?

Use a registry editor, and set BTBrowserEnabled to zero. There are a few threads in this forum on how to do this.

Many Thanks

Sounds a bit advanced for a novice! Any recomendations for an editor?

Since I posted I re-installed TT3 and used an update from the TT site. I also installed BT Tweak.

The original problem seems solved but now I get intermittent warnings that GPS data is not reliable which fixes instantly. This is despite having 6 or 7 sats logged.

Any Ideas?

Then you should have posted in the Beginners lounge and not the Advanced lounge...

An oversight but many thanks for the help.

Can this be transferred to the beginners Lounge?

No problem, I've moved this thread to the beginners lounge.

I'm afraid that I can't recommend a registry editor. If I get time I'll have a search through the forum. Smile

Regards,

Hi Steuart

I'm using the same setup as you, including the BTRegTweak program (which calls itself "Bluetooth Tweaker" when you run it). This program is already changing the setting of the registry key that Lutz mentioned. It sets the value to 1 if you choose Manual or 0 if you choose Automatic. So selecting Manual should indeed fix the problem without resorting to a registry editor.

I usually turn on the Holux before the Pocket PC, and those few seconds are ample time for the GPS to get a good fix before TomTom has finished loading. So I only ever see a GPS position unreliable message if the GPS doesn't have a clear view of sky, and as you say it then clears immediately when I move on from the tree/bridge I'm under.

Hope this helps

Tried to run bttweak and now get an error message "Widcomm registry key not found!"

Who said IT is easy hehe

Just a guess, but have you made the BT connection at least once before trying to use BTRegTweak? The key may not be created until you've done so.
For reference, if you do end up getting a registry editor after all, the key I'm talking about is called this on my 2210:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Widcomm\BtConfig\AutoConnect\0008\BtBrowserEnabled
Good luck!

I have connected to BT dongle on my laptop successfully but the error message still comes up when I try to run BT Tweak.

Steuart,

this needs to be done on the Pocket PC, not on the PC.

You find a registry editor here www.phm.lu

This thread explains in more detail what you need to do

Thanks Lutz.

I understood that I needed to bttweak on the PPC but I was trying to test it on the PC BT connection. This was last night.

Barry on my way into work I connected to the Holux and afterwards BTTweak worked well.

I havnt been able to test out the GPS reliability problem again but will get back to you.

Many Thanks to you botth.
