I've recently bought a new car, but moving the TT3 Bluetooth on an XDA II from the old to the new has created a problem.

My old car had a SEIDIO cradle that powered the XDA II and the BT receiver directly – everything worked like a dream from day one.

When moving to the new car I had to run both my XDA II and TT3 Bluetooth GPS receiver off their own batteries for a short time as the cigar lighter is inconveniently by the centre armrest.

The BT receiver was on the dash, the XDA on the passenger seat. The problems started immediately, the XDA started to lose the GPS receiver signal and crashed (within about 5 minutes).

Also, I noticed that the direction messages and POI (checkpoint) speed camera warnings were missing the first second or so of the voice message 8O

The XDA II is now in a hard-wired car kit cradle and routed through the Becker head unit, but the BT receiver is still on batteries (due to no car wiring support from TOM TOM).

I don’t seem to lose the XDA/Receiver link anymore but the direction messages and POI (checkpoint) speed camera warnings are all missing the first second or so of the voice message.

Does anyone have any idea what might be happening Question

PS. The voice through the car speakers via the Becker head unit sounds fantastic (pity the first second or so is still missing)

there's your problem. The voice instructions "knock at the door" of the Becker, that one considers the input and then says'oh-kay, we can play that" - but by then you're missing the first part already.

The same problem is evident when you use a BT headset.

Here's a workaround: On the XDAII, run the Media player with some nice music in a loop, and put it's volume just high enough so that the Becker plays it. You will see that then the voice instructions also get played in their entirety.
