Having updated the POI's on my 510 etc I have a few questions

a) What are the Specs, mobile gatsos, or?

b) Do you have simple instructions for sending updates to you?, at present I just record Longtitude/Latitude what other info is needed?

c) Overlays, I was looking through other POI's etc that u list, and was going to download the vauxhall dealership one, but I notice that its an overlay file, and a .bmp file, how are these loaded into the system?

regards

SPECS is a timed system, so there are at least two sets of cameras, one at the entry to the timed zone and one at the exit. This system looks at you average speed through the timed section, whereas Gatsos look purely at instantaneous speed.

Mobile contains sites where speed traps are common, but the site is not permanent. The mobile sites often work out of the back of a van.

Temp is for cameras associated with temporary (often long term) roadworks, like the ones around Heathrow at the moment.

Simple instructions can be found courtesy of Oldie, the database maintainer, by looking for his post on this page.

OVerlays can be converted using Oldie's (he is good to us, isn't he?) POI Converter V3, which is fourth in the list on this page. Open as whatever the extension is, save as .csv and dont forget to use Notepad to strip out the top line completely. Then load it using the POI Editor in the desktop as normal. It asks for a .bmp file, so use the one supplied if you can. Note that some .bmps don't display correctly, but if you edit them using Paint and resave as a 16 colour .bmp, all should be well.
