Hi! I'm considering buying TomTom Mobile Scandinavia for my car, as it seems to be the cheapest solution given that I already own a Nokia 6600.
Do people here with this solution like the value for their money? Does it work well, and how about when you need to travel abroad? I get the feeling that it's easier to change/add maps to the PDA version... rather than having to buy a new MMC card from Tomtom for €299. Sad There MUST be some other way!

Anyway, now assuming that I have the cards with maps: Is it possible get a 512 MB or 1 GB MMC card from a store and then load several maps onto it (from the original cards)? 8O

Also, what if I decide to get a new phone for cell phone usage, and want to keep the 6600 for navigation - I'd be lacking a SIM card! :P

I think that's all for now, else I'll edit this post 8)

I've had my TT mobile for a couple of days now and I think it's great value for money. It works well, It is the first GPS system I've used so I am a bit wary as to how well it works (I drive a truck) I have to be wary of weightlimits and low bridges etc, but so far I've been very impressed with it. I have purposely taken wrong turnings to see how it reacts and it takes a couple of seconds to realise you've taken the wrong turning, and a couple of seconds to re-route. The only 'problem' I've had was it telling me to turn into a one way street........ the wrong way!
I have backedup the original 128Mb mmc card onto a 256Mb card and use that in my 6600 with no problems.
Graphics are good and clear, sound could do with being louder but then I am in a truck! Navigation around the menus is easy you just press the relevent number of the menu rather than using the joystick thingy.
I like it and wonder why I've waited so long to get one.

Thanks for your view, nice to hear that it works so well.
It may not be the largest screen, but it probably works as well as TomTom Navigator 3 or TomTom GO, right? And I'm guessing that I'd probably spend most of my time following the arrows, not the map itself, anyway (regarding screen size). More opinions are welcomed. Wink

Anyone out there tried loading several maps onto one, large MMC card?

before I bought TT Mobile the screen size / graphics of the 6600 was my main concern. You will be surprised, I thought I would have to follow the arrows as well, you can follow the map with no problems AT ALL. The graphics are spot on, even in the bumpier surroundings of my truck!!
I prefer the 2D view and it is so clear, I think that is the thing that amazed me most. I wanted a small compact unit that I could move between vehicles, I have 2 mobile phones (work & personal) so didn't really want an extra unit to carry around / extra cables etc.
You WILL need an in car charger for your 6600, the TT program useage eats the battery, only lasts a day on full charge (that is using TT all day though)
