You started well! A gaff belongs to a sailing boat. A gaffe is a blunder.

While Iím about it, how about eliminating the apostropheís in pluralís that seem so dear to your heartís?

Keep up the good work!

Well spotted on the gaff/gaffe gaffe Very Happy

Of the 9 apostrophes in this weeks newsletter:

1) "last week's issue" - possessive, the issue belonged to last week. Correct usage.

2) "didn't happen" - contraction of "did not happen". Correct usage.

3) "Hopefully we've caught" - contraction of "Hopefully we have caught". Correct usage.

4) "This Week's Lifetime Subscriber" - possessive, the subscriber awards belong to this week. Correct usage.

5) "news that we've seen so far" - contraction of "news that we have seen so far". Correct usage.

6) "There hasn't been much" - contraction of "There has not been much". Correct usage.

7) "if you haven't tried one" - contraction of "if you have not tried one". Correct usage.

8) "Let's hope the battery" - contraction of "Let us hope the battery". Correct usage.

9) "If you've got" - contraction of "If you have got". Correct usage.

Which did you think were wrong?
