When you install it the software seems to stay at 4.40.

Downloaded the .exe file and when I goto install the update it lists the update as TomTom Go 4.400, however, the file name is ttgoupg442.

i still have the 4.40 exe on my pc, and the new one is slighlty bigger...

Ummm, strange, seems slightly smaller on mine. still gave it a try anyway. you never know, they may have got rid of a few of the little niggles

Might be worth noting is that 4.420 is dated as September 2004 and not October.

I think this is still the September update 4.40 when they updated the "update" to included USB support. It caused a little bit of confusion, so they may have given it it's own ref number.

Late this afternoon, around 17:00 Dutch time, TomTom has posted a 'new' 4.42. After installing this one, the GO will show 4.42 as it's version number.

Don't know what they are doing over there, 8O

TTG Reports : version 4.420
Seems to have fixed the problem of mine not remembering what time it is (I thought its RTC battery had died already).
Also appears to boot quicker ? (Could be wishful thinking!)

Is this a new update then that we should all install to get rid of some of the niggles??

Ive had no word from TomTom yet, and also do we install"over" the 4.40? Rolling Eyes

A reply I got from TomTom support regarding the 'new' update...

"TomTom GO Update 4.42 is an internal administrative version number update.
The Update contains no new features and there is no need to update to version 4.42.

Would have been easy for support to add the above to the update page to save any confusion.

Weird, most weird,

I got a reply this morning,

TomTom GO Update 4.42
The Update contains no new features, but does contain windows 98se usb drivers
