Hello,
I've heard that the Nokia 1500mAh BL-5C battery is compatible with the new Holux GR-236, thus as a replacement to its 850mAh standard battery this could really stir up the Globalsat BT338 versus Holux GR 263 debate!!!
However, I was really hoping that some readers may have already tried this upgrade and could shed some light on the resulting battery life. I would also be interested to know of the charge time when the battery is in the Holux device.
Also, doe anyone know of any UK based suppliers of the Holux GR-236?
Thanks in advance,
d

Hi,
I have not had a chance to test this yet, but have spoken to Holux UK this week and they are expecting the first batch of 236's in at the end of May.
Best to contact their Shop for more details - www.holux-uk.com for more information.
I've got a pre-order with them for it and can't wait to put it to the test!
So what battery does the globalsat take then? and are they easy to purchase? _________________ Ipaq 3970, Ipaq 2210 X2, Smart ST V1, Tomtom V3+V5, CoPilot V5, AA Navigator, Tomtom Bluetooth GPS, Navman 3450i Jacket, Navman Bluetooth GPS, Holux GM270, Fortuna GPS-PocketXtrack

Clivers,
The Globalsat338 uses its own specially made battery from what i've been told, and is not as easy to purchase as a nokia battery is, especially through ebay! I think Easydevices do stock so might be worth trying there first!
i may well buy one. i like the idea of a changable battery rather than a built in one... _________________ Ipaq 3970, Ipaq 2210 X2, Smart ST V1, Tomtom V3+V5, CoPilot V5, AA Navigator, Tomtom Bluetooth GPS, Navman 3450i Jacket, Navman Bluetooth GPS, Holux GM270, Fortuna GPS-PocketXtrack
